Role Overview

The Logistics Manager oversees all logistical aspects of a construction project to keep site operations efficient, safe, and well organized.

The role manages delivery, storage, distribution, access, traffic flow, documentation, contractors, and stakeholder coordination.

Performance and Site Logistics

  • Deliver site-wide logistics through a logistics management contractor and monitor measurable service goals.
  • Coordinate safe movement of labour, plant, and materials around the site.
  • Manage site security, worker accommodation, logistics meetings, access roads, signage, and public access routes.
  • Develop logistics processes, procedures, induction programmes, a site safety manual, and the Site Emergency Plan.
  • Manage supply chain activities, movement plans, and lookahead forecasting.

Change, Permitting, and Cost

  • Review logistics contractor scope variations, assess impacts, and monitor construction change management.
  • Ensure the logistics contractor acquires all permits required for smooth logistics operations.
  • Review budgets and cost plans, and ensure work is re-measured and signed off under the contract.

Planning, Risk, and Interfaces

  • Review monthly graphical time slices and weekly plans covering plot, infrastructure, and logistics activities.
  • Review the logistics risk register and coordinate mitigation plans with site stakeholders.
  • Coordinate programme consultants, contractors, stakeholders, and plot teams on logistics interfaces and access.

Communication, Reporting, and Assurance

  • Highlight issues in regular meetings, issue weekly directions, and escalate matters with mitigation plans when needed.
  • Produce detailed weekly logistics dashboards.
  • Review contractor self-audit checklists covering quality, safety, environmental, welfare, and related controls.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Project Management, or Real Estate Development.
  • More than 15 years of site-wide logistics experience in complex, matrixed, multicultural team environments.
  • Prior Abu Dhabi experience on hospitality, mixed-use, or residential projects is mandatory.
  • Fluent English reading, writing, and speaking skills.
  • CSCS, SMSTS or SSSTS, recognized safety programme, First Aid, Lifting Supervisor Certification, traffic management, and institutional membership credentials.
  • Chartership is preferred.
