Role Overview
- The Head of Private Banking Support focuses on ex ante controls to increase effectiveness and ensure consistency in operational processes.
- Together with Local PBCOO and HoPB, responsible for First Line of Defense for Private Banking in Dubai.
- Contributes to enhancement and oversight of FLoD control environment and manages daily office matters, communication, staff training, governance, and office support.
Key Roles and Responsibilities
- Coordinate control activity in line with Global Private Banking Control Blueprint and local regulatory requirements.
- Actively identify, manage, and mitigate risks from business operations including AML/KYC, cross border, and suitability.
- Assure quality and timeliness of frontline activities such as Client Information Profiles, account documentation, and periodic relationship reviews.
- Approve periodic relationship, business introducer, and independent asset manager reviews and CIP modifications.
- Keep track of timely completion of pending items and remediation of client lifecycle issues.
- Proactively collect frontline feedback to improve day to day operations efficiency.
- Successfully manage internal audits and operational risk incidents.
Management & Leadership
- Demonstrate exemplary conduct and live by Group's Values and Code of Conduct.
- Lead PBS team to drive client centric process enhancements for better client experience and service standards.
- Plan and coordinate team activities in line with global standards and set clear team goals.
- Ensure staff competence and provide coaching, mentoring, and training opportunities.
- Monitor team performance, provide regular feedback, and appraise fairly.
- Motivate team members and ensure teamwork guided by EFG corporate values.
Other Tasks
- Maintain and improve effective communication with three lines of defence to ensure regulatory compliance.
- Work jointly with local Business Risk Management and Global PBS to smoothen operational processes.
- Ensure appropriate PB representation in Risk and Compliance governance committees.
- Provide ongoing training to new and existing CROs and CSOs on systems, processes, and policies.
- Collaborate with Global Head of PBS in review and refinement of FLoD framework.
- Advise, check, and validate payments and securities transfers.
