Linux System Administration, Senior - Linux Space Systems Support

Seeking a Linux Systems Administrator to support the development, testing, and operations of spacecraft and ground systems at BAE Systems, Space and Mission Systems.

The position will serve as a technical resource to programs and engineering staff within integrated development teams to meet strategic and organizational goals.

The role is responsible for the application of advanced technologies to operate, integrate, and maintain complex Linux Information Systems in a secure enterprise environment.

What You’ll Do:

• R​​​​​esponsible for the deployment and administration of secure Linux systems and Infrastructure Services to meet programmatic and customer requirements.

• Expected to operate and maintain Ansible Automation playbooks and roles to support hardware, virtual, container based, and commercial cloud hosted environments.

• Work includes implementation, configuration management, maintenance, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and monitoring of Linux services and solutions.

• Participate within an integrated development team and processes including software development methodologies and practices.

• Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.

• Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic Capabilities Units and the Company. Interact appropriately with others in order to maintain a positive and productive work environment.

• Perform other duties as necessary.

On-Site Work Environment: This position requires regular in-person engagement by working on-site five days each normally scheduled week in the primary work location.

Travel and local commute between company campuses and other possible non-company locations may be required.

Working Conditions:

• Work is performed in an office environment, laboratory, cleanroom, or production floor.
