- Verify that the crane is set up on firm ground and check that outriggers are fully extended and stable
- Be physically present during all lifts to direct the team, monitor load stability, and ensure only certified personnel handle equipment
Requirements
- Valid Lifting Supervisor Certification from a recognized safety authority
- 3 to 5+ years of experience in rigging, operating lifting equipment, or as a safety supervisor on construction or industrial sites
- Understanding of rigging techniques, mathematical load calculations, and health and safety standards
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Local UAE accreditations (e.g., ADNOC or UAE municipality approvals) may be required

Job Overview
- A Lifting Supervisor is the primary safety authority on site responsible for directing and executing heavy lifting operations.
- They ensure all lifts strictly follow the engineered Lift Plan, manage the lifting crew, and halt any unsafe actions immediately.
Key Responsibilities
- Lift Plan Verification: Review the lifting plan before work starts to ensure it matches the actual site conditions.
- Crew Briefing: Lead pre lift meetings (toolbox talks) to explain the lift sequence, potential hazards, and hand signals to the team.
- Equipment Inspection: Check all lifting gear (shackles, slings, and chains) to make sure they are certified, color coded, and free from damage.
- Site and Crane Setup: Verify that the crane is set up on firm ground and check that outriggers are fully extended and stable.
- Active Supervision: Be physically present during all lifts to direct the team, monitor the load's stability, and ensure only certified personnel handle the equipment.
Typical Requirements
- Certification: A valid Lifting Supervisor Certification from a recognized safety authority.
- Experience: Usually 3 to 5+ years of experience in rigging, operating lifting equipment, or working as a safety supervisor on construction or industrial sites.
- Knowledge: Understanding of rigging techniques, mathematical load calculations, and health and safety standards.
- Communication: Strong leadership to coordinate multiple workers and clear problem solving skills to manage hazards.
