- Develop, review, and authorize lifting plans for routine, non routine, and critical lifts
- Verify load calculations, crane configurations, rigging arrangements, and lifting methodologies
- Ensure all lifting activities comply with LOLER, LEEA standards, and project specific procedures
- Assess environmental conditions (wind speed, sea state, and heat stress factors) prior to execution
- Act as the designated authority for all lifting operations offshore
- Supervise crane operators, riggers, banksmen, and supporting teams during lifting activities
- Ensure correct selection, inspection, and usage of lifting equipment and accessories
- Suspend operations immediately in case of unsafe conditions or non compliance
- Enforce offshore HSE standards and Permit to Work (PTW) systems
- Conduct pre lift briefings and toolbox talks for all lifting operations
Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Mechanical, Civil, or Marine Engineering (preferred)
- LEEA certification or equivalent lifting competency qualification
- Certified Appointed Person (Lifting Operations) – mandatory
- Valid offshore safety certification (BOSIET / HUET or equivalent)
- Minimum 8–12 years of experience in lifting operations
- At least 3–5 years of offshore oil & gas or marine construction experience
- Strong exposure to heavy lifts, tandem lifts, and complex lifting operations

Role Overview
- The Lifting Appointed Person (Offshore) is responsible for the safe planning, authorization, and execution of all lifting operations offshore.
- Ensures strict compliance with applicable international standards, project requirements, and UAE offshore safety regulations.
- The position operates in challenging offshore conditions, including high ambient temperatures, humidity, and direct sun exposure.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, review, and authorize lifting plans for routine, non routine, and critical lifts.
- Verify load calculations, crane configurations, rigging arrangements, and lifting methodologies.
- Ensure all lifting activities comply with LOLER, LEEA standards, and project specific procedures.
- Assess environmental conditions (wind speed, sea state, and heat stress factors) prior to execution.
- Act as the designated authority for all lifting operations offshore.
- Supervise crane operators, riggers, banksmen, and supporting teams during lifting activities.
- Ensure correct selection, inspection, and usage of lifting equipment and accessories.
- Suspend operations immediately in case of unsafe conditions or non compliance.

Qualifications
- Diploma or Degree in Mechanical, Civil, or Marine Engineering (preferred).
- LEEA certification or equivalent lifting competency qualification.
- Certified Appointed Person (Lifting Operations) – mandatory.
- Valid offshore safety certification (BOSIET / HUET or equivalent).
Experience
- Minimum 8–12 years of experience in lifting operations.
- At least 3–5 years of offshore oil & gas or marine construction experience.
- Strong exposure to heavy lifts, tandem lifts, and complex lifting operations.
- Prior Gulf / UAE offshore experience will be an advantage.
