About Takaful Emarat

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise daily underwriting activities for Group Life and Individual Life insurance portfolios.
  • Review and approve underwriting cases within assigned authority limits.
  • Ensure underwriting practices align with company guidelines, regulatory requirements, and risk management standards.
  • Evaluate medical, financial, occupational, and lifestyle risk factors.
  • Provide technical guidance, coaching, and support to underwriting team members.
  • Monitor service levels, quality standards, turnaround times, and team performance.
  • Review complex or referred cases and escalate to senior management as needed.
  • Collaborate with sales, claims, actuarial, operations, and other internal stakeholders.
  • Assist in developing, reviewing, and updating underwriting policies, procedures, and manuals.
  • Support preparation and delivery of underwriting training programs.
  • Identify process improvement opportunities to enhance efficiency and service quality.
  • Maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation related to underwriting decisions.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor's Degree in any discipline.
  • Minimum 5 7 years of experience in life insurance underwriting, including Group Life and Individual Life products.
  • Previous supervisory or team leadership experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of medical, financial, occupational, and lifestyle risk assessment.
  • Sound understanding of life insurance underwriting principles, risk selection, policy terms, and pricing.
  • Knowledge of UAE insurance regulations and industry practices is an advantage.
  • Excellent analytical, decision making, and problem solving skills.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and underwriting systems.
  • Professional insurance qualifications such as LOMA, ALU, FLMI, or equivalent are an advantage.
