Responsibilities
- Use appropriate rescue techniques if observing swimmers in need of help
- Monitor swimming area for dangerous situations, unusual or unsafe activities, and swimmers in difficulty
- Promote recreational facility rules and regulations
- Identify situations where guests cannot safely participate in an activity and inform supervisor/manager
- Provide assistance to injured guests until emergency medical services arrive
- Promote a cheerful and comfortable environment for guests
- Fold and stack towels according to company procedures
- Wash, scrub, and clean the pool area
- Report accidents, injuries, and hazardous work conditions; complete safety training and obtain certifications
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Related work experience: None required
- Supervisory experience: None required
- License or certification: CPR Certification, First Aid Certification, Physical training equipment, Any certification required by local and state agencies
Physical Requirements
- Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than 50 lbs (22.50 kg) without assistance
- Assist in moving, lifting, carrying, and placing objects weighing more than 75 lbs (33.75 kg)
- Stand, sit, or walk for extended periods or entire work shift
- Move at a speed required to respond to work situations (e.g., running, walking, jogging)
- Visually inspect tools, equipment, or machines
- Grasp, turn, and manipulate objects of various sizes and weights requiring fine motor skills and hand eye coordination
- Reach above head and below knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and leaning
- Move across inclined, uneven, or slippery surfaces and stairs
- Climb ladders, stairs, and/or service ramps
