Key Responsibilities

Contribute proactively and professionally as a member of the Curriculum Team, providing specialist expertise, constructive challenge and informed advice while promoting a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement and high professional standards.
Lead and contribute to projects, initiatives and improvement activities as directed by the line manager, ensuring agreed objectives, outcomes and timescales are achieved.
Build and maintain effective internal and external partnerships, promoting collaboration, sharing good practice and identifying opportunities to enhance the quality and impact of curriculum provision.
Maintain current and relevant knowledge of developments within the sector, including emerging trends, policy changes, legislation, qualifications and good practice, and consider their implications for the College’s current provision and future strategic direction.
Ensure full awareness of, and compliance with, all College policies, procedures, regulations and professional standards relevant to the role.
Actively promote and embed equality, diversity, inclusion and respect across all aspects of College life, ensuring that learners, staff and partners are treated fairly, equitably and with dignity.
Champion the College’s ethos, values and strategic priorities, acting as a positive role model and contributing to an inclusive, supportive and high-performing culture for both staff and students.
Provide appropriate leadership, guidance and support to colleagues where required, encouraging continuous professional development, effective performance and the sharing of knowledge and good practice.
Contribute meaningfully to self-evaluation, quality assurance and continuous improvement activities within the curriculum area, using evidence and feedback to identify strengths, address areas for development and enhance outcomes.
Maintain the highest standards of confidentiality and professional integrity when handling information relating to learners, staff, partners and other sensitive College matters.
Understand and fulfil all responsibilities associated with the College’s regulatory, statutory and legal obligations as both an education provider and employer, including requirements under the Data Protection Act, UK GDPR and Freedom of Information Act.
Ensure that any actual or suspected loss, unauthorised disclosure or unlawful processing of personal data is reported promptly and managed in accordance with the College’s Data Protection Policy and established procedures.
Promote and maintain a safe, healthy and supportive learning and working environment by exercising appropriate duty of care for personal health and safety and that of students, colleagues, visitors and other individuals who may be affected by College activities.
Complete all mandatory, statutory and role-specific training within the required timescales, including training relating to health and safety, equality, diversity, safeguarding, data protection and other relevant areas.
Undertake any other duties and responsibilities that are reasonably commensurate with the level and nature of the post, as directed by the Principal or Vice Principal.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

Educated to a minimum of HND, SCQF Level 8;
Alternatively, relevant professional experience in the specialist area or appropriate vocational learning will be considered
Experience working in a motor vehicle workshop environment with all appropriate tools and associated equipment
Evidence of Continuous Professional Development
Teaching Qualification in Further Education
Demonstrable knowledge of
Further Education in Scotland

Possess effective ICT skills and an understanding of the role of online learning
Previous experience of individual or group guidance/supervision in a formal or informal setting
Relevant industrial or practitioner experience in appropriate discipline
Teaching in a post compulsory education setting and of assessment and moderation in the context of SQA and the National Curriculum
A relevant qualification required specifically for the curriculum area as identified by the College
