About the Role

Responsibilities
- Architect, design, build, and maintain high performance, scalable Java based microservices
- Solve complex technical problems related to concurrency, low latency messaging, and large scale data processing
- Collaborate with traders, product managers, and business stakeholders to deliver technical solutions
- Uphold code quality standards, automated testing, code reviews, and CI/CD practices
- Drive platform evolution using Kafka, Docker, and OpenShift
- Mentor mid level and senior developers, fostering technical excellence
- Own full development lifecycle from architecture to deployment and operational support
- Assess risk and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations
Requirements
- 8+ years of professional experience in hands on software architecture, design and development
- Deep knowledge of server side Java including multi threading and performance tuning
- Proven experience architecting complex distributed systems and cloud microservices
- Strong expertise with relational databases, data modeling, query optimization, and performance tuning
- Hands on experience with high throughput messaging platforms (Kafka, Solace)
- Solid experience with modern CI/CD pipelines and tools (Git, Jenkins, Maven/Gradle)
- Strong thought leader, communicator and collaborator with Agile delivery experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field

Job Overview

What You'll Do
- Architect, design, build, and maintain high performance, scalable Java based microservices.
- Tackle challenging technical problems related to concurrency, low latency messaging, and large scale data processing.
- Work within a global Agile team to analyze business requirements and deliver technical solutions.
- Uphold high standards for code quality, automated testing, code reviews, and CI/CD practices.
- Drive platform evolution using Kafka, Docker, and OpenShift.
- Serve as technical advisor and coach to mid level and senior developers.
- Take ownership of full development lifecycle from architecture to operational support.
- Assess risk and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
What We're Looking For
- 8+ years of professional experience in hands on software architecture, design and development.
- Deep knowledge of server side Java including multi threading and performance tuning.
- Proven experience architecting complex distributed systems and cloud microservices.
- Strong expertise with relational databases, data modeling, query optimization, and performance tuning.
- Hands on experience with high throughput messaging platforms (Kafka, Solace).
- Solid experience with modern CI/CD pipelines and tools (Git, Jenkins, Maven/Gradle).
- Strong thought leader, communicator and collaborator with Agile delivery experience.
- Preferred: Financial domain knowledge in exchange traded derivatives and futures trading.
- Preferred: Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, or OpenShift.
- Preferred: Familiarity with NoSQL databases like MongoDB.
- Preferred: Experience with FIX Protocol and AI tools.
- Preferred: Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field; Master's a plus.
