Role overview
Partner company is seeking a Lead Software Engineer based in the United Kingdom.
The role combines hands-on frontend and backend engineering with architectural problem-solving, testing, performance optimisation, and API design.
The position is fully remote and full-time, with a 9 AM–5 PM Melbourne-time schedule.
Key accountabilities
- Develop, test, maintain, and improve web applications using Node.js, TypeScript, and React 18+.
- Own features from technical design through implementation, testing, deployment, and optimisation.
- Design scalable RESTful APIs, integrate external services, and build responsive, accessible, performant interfaces.
- Implement secure OAuth, OIDC, and session-based authentication and authorisation.
- Maintain engineering quality through automated testing, code reviews, Git workflows, and reliable development practices.
- Optimise SQL and relational database interactions and contribute to architecture, debugging, and performance improvements.
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers to deliver user-focused features.
- Use AI-powered coding assistants such as Claude Code and GitHub Copilot while maintaining code quality.
