Role Overview
Grab is hiring a Lead Software Engineer, Backend for its payments team.
The role designs, delivers, and maintains high-quality scalable solutions for consumer- and partner-facing payment capabilities.
This onsite role is based in the Bangalore office.
Critical Tasks
- Architect scalable, high-performance backend systems using a platform-driven approach.
- Mentor software engineers and encourage innovation and continuous improvement.
- Define technical strategies and feature specifications with partner teams.
- Make high-level design decisions and establish technical standards.
- Optimize performance, reliability, and efficiency across the product ecosystem.
- Provide technical guidance and conduct code reviews.
- Partner with DevOps teams to improve scalability and operational efficiency.
- Lead innovation by tracking current technologies and industry trends.
Essential Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 8+ years of software engineering experience, including 5+ years designing and building scalable systems.
- Strong foundation in data structures, algorithms, operating systems, and networking.
