Role overview
Grab is seeking an Associate L2 Support Engineer to handle production issues, application incidents, and operational escalations.
The role bridges L1 support and engineering through deeper technical investigations, root-cause analysis, and incident resolution.
The position supports platform and customer-impacting incidents and participates in on-call coverage.
Core responsibilities
- Escalate and close issues that L1 support cannot resolve within defined service-level agreements.
- Investigate application, database, and infrastructure issues using logs, dashboards, and observability tools.
- Perform root-cause analysis and document data fixes, findings, and preventive actions.
- Use MySQL queries to investigate discrepancies, reconcile records, and perform operational checks.
- Perform data fixes, replay failed jobs, and validate reconciliation pipelines.
- Collaborate with L3 and engineering teams on defects, reproduction steps, and hot-fix validation.
- Create runbooks, SOPs, and knowledge-base articles to improve L1 self-service.
- Participate in on-call coverage for medium-severity incidents.
- Communicate incident status and implement automation and monitoring improvements.
