Role Overview

The Lead Site Reliability Engineer works within a Product Area and owns responsibility domains supporting reliability, performance, automation, and service quality for SimCorp SaaS clients.

The role combines engineering, incident response, platform configuration, and operational excellence in Azure-based environments using ITIL and SRE practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own reliability, scalability, and performance of Azure-hosted environments.
  • Lead operational support and onboarding for new and existing client platforms.
  • Provide technical leadership in SRE practices, tooling, incident response, and automation.
  • Lead solution workshops, vendor engagement, and senior stakeholder management.
  • Implement observability with SLOs, SLIs, monitoring, logging, and proactive alerting.
  • Oversee disaster recovery, postmortems, root cause analysis, configuration management, and infrastructure readiness.
  • Deliver onboarding through reusable automation pipelines.
  • Mentor engineers and coordinate maintenance, deployments, refreshes, rollbacks, and application upgrades.
  • Collaborate with product owners and architects on platform design and roadmaps.
  • Provide weekend or on-call support as needed and contribute to incident, problem, and change management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • 5–8 or more years in Site Reliability Engineering or cloud infrastructure leadership roles.
  • Strong production-grade Microsoft Azure design and operation expertise.
  • Proficiency with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform, Bicep, ARM, or Ansible.
  • Knowledge of cloud-native monitoring, incident management, networking, virtualization, and containerization.
  • Experience with Azure Monitor, Application Insights, Log Analytics, Grafana, Linux, Windows, APIs, PowerShell, Bash, and SQL.
  • Experience managing onboarding projects and live production operations.
  • Ability to mentor and lead engineers, influence architecture, collaborate cross-functionally, and balance strategy with hands-on execution.
  • Familiarity with SimCorp Dimension is a strong plus.

Workplace

  • SimCorp follows a hybrid policy requiring employees to work from the office two days each week and allowing remote work on other days.

Compensation

  • For Toronto, the salary range is $113,000 to $142,300 CAD.
  • Employees may be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus and benefits including health and dental care, time off, and Group RRSP or TFSA.
