Role overview
Lead performance engineering for enterprise data and analytics products, including big data technologies.
Own performance, availability, scalability, and reliability outcomes across data products and cross-program dependencies.
Key responsibilities
- Participate in requirements gathering, design, development, scripting, execution, analysis, troubleshooting, tuning, and reporting.
- Develop performance engineering and testing strategies for data products and cross-program dependencies.
- Collaborate with architecture, solution design, and development teams to design for performance.
- Ensure non-functional requirements are defined for features and components and included in sprint backlogs.
- Create test strategies, workload models, and specific performance testing goals.
- Recommend strategies for big data, data warehouse, and business intelligence systems to meet service-level agreements.
- Review and implement performance improvements and tuning opportunities identified through testing analysis.
- Improve observability and visibility of big data and business intelligence systems.
- Evaluate feature and solution testability and build testability into architecture and design.
- Diagnose and resolve bottlenecks with site reliability, platform, and application teams.
