Your Impact
The Lead Network Engineer is responsible for the architecture, implementation, operational support, and continuous improvement of OpenText's global enterprise network infrastructure. The successful candidate will provide technical leadership for network operations, major projects, security initiatives, cloud connectivity, and network modernization efforts across global office locations and datacenters.
What the role offers
Design, implement, and support enterprise network solutions across global offices, datacenters, and cloud environments.
Lead network modernization initiatives including SD-WAN, cloud networking, WAN optimization, and network security enhancements.
Develop network standards, reference architectures, and engineering best practices.
Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend improvements to increase reliability, performance, and security.
Serve as Tier-3 escalation point for complex network incidents and critical outages.
Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and implement preventive measures.
Participate in on-call support and major incident management activities.
Plan and recommend design that could improve the existing network environment.
Implement networking best practices and standards throughout the infrastructure.
Create and update documentation (to include Visio diagrams) relating to all implementations.
Understanding of ITIL process including change and incident process.
Participate and provide feedback into the day to day Network Operations.
Participate in support through the ticketing system using a defined change process.
Design and implement monitoring solutions.
Lead global infrastructure deployments, office buildouts, migrations, and technology refresh projects.
Coordinate with vendors, ISPs, and managed service providers.
Manage implementation plans, testing procedures, migration activities, and project documentation.
Ensure successful delivery of projects within agreed timelines.
Drive network automation initiatives using scripting and infrastructure automation tools.
Improve operational efficiency through monitoring, reporting, and process optimization.
Enhance network observability through telemetry, analytics, and proactive monitoring solutions.
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to Network Engineers and Operations teams.
Review network designs, change requests, and implementation plans.
Work effectively within a globally distributed engineering organization.
Support knowledge sharing, operational readiness, and technical training initiatives.
What you succeed
An education in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline from an accredited institution; or equivalent experience, is required.
Minimum 8+ years’ experience working with various network devices and in general Network Engineering and expertise in design, build and support of network infrastructure including 3+ years of experience leading network projects or technical teams with following skills:
Minimum 5 plus Years experience in Switching & Routing, Firewall
Network Devices: Routers, Switches, Firewalls, Load Balancers (Multivendor Network Environment) like Cisco Nexus, FortiGate, Checkpoint, Palo Alto, Juniper
Network Skills: TCP/IP, routing protocols (EIGRP, OSPF, BGP, MPLS, IPSec VPN), Layer2/3 switching and VLAN configuration, Firewall security policy.
Routing Protocols: EIGRP, BGP, DMVPN, OSPF.
Trunking Protocols: VLAN, SVI, 802.1q, LACP, vPC
Good understanding on Spine and Leaf
Basic knowledge of cloud computing (AWS, Azure, GCP.) and Cloud networking.
Experienced in Automation using Python, Terraform
