Role Overview

Wood is recruiting a Lead Instrument Engineer for the ADNOC Offshore US LTDP project.

The role provides technical leadership and coordination for instrumentation engineering within the project management organization.

Job Objective

  • Provide technical expertise in instrumentation design.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant codes and ADNOC standards.
  • Coordinate and monitor instrumentation design with the EPC contractor.
  • Resolve technical issues across IPMT, EPC, ADNOC, operations, and site interfaces.
  • Review instrumentation deliverables for quality, compliance, and engineering integrity.

Core Responsibilities

  • Coordinate overall instrumentation engineering within the IPMT team.
  • Review and approve consultant and EPC contractor instrumentation work.
  • Support design option analysis, optimization, and validation.
  • Participate in equipment sizing and selection.
  • Participate in layout, model, design, and technical reviews.
  • Provide technical assistance to other discipline engineers.
  • Coordinate technical, bid, and performance reviews.
  • Support installation, pre-commissioning, and commissioning.
  • Interface with project managers, technical departments, operations, logistics, and contractor teams.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering.
  • Minimum of 15 years of relevant upstream offshore oil and gas experience.
  • PMC experience is highly preferred.
  • Large-project experience is required.
  • Middle East or GCC experience on major energy projects is required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent technical team and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with relevant international codes and standards.
  • Knowledge of engineering computer programs and general business software.
  • Ability to independently develop solutions to complex problems.
