Role Overview

Lead Engineer responsible for strategic and technical leadership across complex rail systems programs.

The role covers communications systems, control systems, signalling, systems integration, and operational control.

Experience delivering projects in the Middle East or other international markets is highly desirable.

Your Role

  • Act as a trusted technical authority and subject matter expert for clients and internal teams.
  • Lead rail control system solutions, system architecture, integration strategies, and operational concepts.
  • Lead major multidisciplinary rail projects and manage interfaces across signalling, telecommunications, and infrastructure.
  • Oversee interface control documents, integration plans, workshops, testing, commissioning, assurance, approvals, and certification.
  • Lead operations and asset management assignments, major bids, consultancy work, and technical challenge resolution.

About You

  • Degree-qualified in engineering or a related discipline.
  • At least 13 years of rail systems experience across high-speed, conventional, and metro railways.
  • Experience in one or more of ETCS or ERTMS, CBTC, Train Management Systems, GSM-R and telecommunications, railway signalling, or operational control systems.
  • Strong expertise in system architecture, integration, railway system performance, and complex multidisciplinary project leadership.
  • Knowledge of rail control systems, IP-based networks, data centres, cloud infrastructure, cybersecurity, data analytics, and AI applications.
  • Experience with assurance, approvals, certification, technical bids, consultancy assignments, and international rail markets.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, influencing, client management, and assignment management skills.
  • Chartered Engineer status and membership of a relevant professional institution are listed qualifications.
