Responsibilities
- Perform on site installation, commissioning, refurbishment, startup, maintenance, troubleshooting, and upgrading of medium voltage synchronous and induction motors, generators, excitation & AVR systems
- Respond to requests for emergency repairs and services
- Provide technical instruction and assistance to customer representatives regarding installation, operation, calibration, repair, and maintenance at customer's sites
- Write technical reports, order materials, secure quotations, prepare job status reports, reports to customers, time sheets, and expense sheets on a complete, timely, and thorough basis
- Provide leadership and technical direction to skilled labor performing work on customer sites
- Maintain strong safety mindset to ensure executed work reflects technical requirements within GE safety standards
- Prepare timely and accurate technical reports for customer records and a reference for future outages
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited college or university (Electrical Engineering preferred)
- Minimum 7 years of field service experience with medium voltage motors, generators, excitation systems, and commissioning of rotating equipment
- Hands on experience in electrical testing and commissioning of electrical rotating machines and drives systems
- Ability and willingness to travel approximately 80% of the time
- Ability and willingness to possess and maintain a valid driver's license
- Ability and willingness to work remotely as required
- Ability to work effectively with minimum supervision

Job Description Summary
- The Lead Engineer will be responsible for onsite installation of motors and generators systems and equipment and ongoing preventive maintenance, repair and calibration after installation.
- Provide technical instruction and assistance to customer representatives regarding installation, operation, calibration, repair and maintenance at customer's sites.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform on site installation, commissioning, refurbishment, startup, maintenance, troubleshooting & upgrading of medium voltage synchronous and induction motors, generators, excitation & AVR systems.
- With knowledge on medium voltage variable speed drives systems.
- Respond to requests for emergency repairs and services.
- Provide technical instruction and assistance to customer representatives regarding installation, operation, calibration, repair and maintenance at customer's sites.
- Writing technical reports, ordering materials, securing quotations, preparing job status reports, reports to customers, time sheets and expense sheets on a complete, timely, and thorough basis.
- Provide leadership and technical direction to skilled labor performing work on customer sites.
- Maintain strong safety mindset to ensure the executed work reflects the technical requirements within GE safety standards.
- Prepare timely and accurate technical reports for customer records and a reference for future outages.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited college or university (Electrical Engineering preferred).
