Job Summary
The Lead Cost Control Engineer manages and optimizes project expenditures throughout the construction lifecycle.
The role covers cost estimation, tracking, reporting, variance analysis, corrective actions, and cost-efficiency planning to support timely, high-quality project delivery.
Cost Control Responsibilities
- Develop and implement procedures and systems for monitoring project expenditures and budget adherence.
- Establish project budgets, cost forecasts, and expenditure plans with project managers and stakeholders.
- Estimate and analyze costs for project components, materials, labor, and overhead.
- Track costs, identify variances and trends, and implement corrective or cost-saving actions.
- Prepare regular cost reports and presentations for project stakeholders.
- Review contractor and vendor invoices for accuracy and contractual compliance.
- Evaluate change orders and variations and negotiate their cost and schedule impacts.
- Provide guidance on cost-effective solutions, value engineering, and cost-control strategies.
- Monitor market trends, pricing fluctuations, and regulatory changes affecting project costs.
HSE Responsibilities
- Support HSE initiatives, participate in safety-awareness activities, and contribute to incident reporting and resolution in alignment with company and IMS policies.
