Job Purpose
The Lead Coach Trap is responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating sport-related activities within the Trap discipline.
The role develops annual training plans using macrocycles and mesocycles aligned with national and international competition schedules.
The role delivers high-level weekly training and training camps for elite and development Team Saudi Trap athletes.
Strategic Leadership
- Develop and implement annual and multi-year performance plans for the Trap discipline.
- Establish the coaching philosophy, training methodology, and technical standards for the Trap program.
- Lead technical planning for international competitions, training camps, and preparation cycles.
- Monitor international trends, ISSF rule changes, and relevant best practices.
Training and Competition
- Lead day-to-day technical coaching for the Trap discipline under the Head Coach Shotgun.
- Coordinate specialist coaches and performance-support staff assigned to high-performance athletes.
- Guide the transition of identified Trap athletes from beginner and development stages into the high-performance pathway.
- Prepare athletes for World Cups, World Championships, Asian Championships, Asian Games, and Olympic qualification events.
- Plan, organize, and supervise national team training camps and weekly training.
- Provide technical reports following competitions and camps.
Athlete Support and Development
- Oversee the preparation and performance of national team Trap athletes.
- Develop and coordinate individual performance plans for elite and development athletes.
- Provide athlete selection recommendations in accordance with federation policies and performance criteria.
- Monitor athlete progress through performance reviews, training data, and competition analysis.
- Ensure effective transition of athletes from development to elite levels.
- Provide development opportunities and appropriate support for female Trap athletes.
Learning and Coordination
- Participate in SOTC learning and development programs and technical meetings.
- Work collaboratively with the Head Coach Shotgun, shooting leadership, coaches, service experts, and athlete wellbeing experts.
- Implement the overall shotgun coaching philosophy and technical standards while leading discipline-specific delivery.
- Escalate operational or safety concerns to higher leadership structures.
Safety and Compliance
- Follow safety guidelines, coaching standards, and ethical practices.
- Ensure training and competition areas are safe, organized, and suitable for participant use.
- Support adherence to organizational policies and procedures during training, camps, and competitions.
