Job Summary
Lead AI Engineer / Data Scientist role within an AI pipeline team.
Design and deploy advanced pipelines combining structured and unstructured data to identify emerging risks and alert customers proactively.
Maintain and improve AI models that detect, analyze, and highlight potential risks.
Set data science direction, lead data scientists, and build scalable, high-impact solutions with engineering and product teams.
Focus areas include natural language processing, geospatial analytics, and event detection.
Responsibilities
- Manage production LLMs on AWS Bedrock and OpenAI, including deployment, scaling, monitoring, and cost optimization.
- Perform hands-on coding and development work.
- Mentor data scientists, review code, and promote best practices.
- Translate business goals into model KPIs and measurable impact.
- Prioritize resources and plan data science roadmaps.
- Define analytics and data science strategy.
- Collaborate with leadership and product teams on data-driven opportunities.
- Lead data science projects from design through deployment.
- Present insights to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Design and validate analytical models and drive continuous improvement.
- Ensure compliance with data privacy, security, and ethical standards.
- Integrate reliable and secure LLM solutions into enterprise workflows.
Requirements
- Master’s or Ph.D. in computer science, statistics, mathematics, engineering, data science, or a related quantitative field.
- More than six years of data science, machine learning, or advanced analytics experience with project delivery and leadership.
- Expertise in statistical modeling, machine learning, deep learning, data and text mining, and generative AI prompting.
- Proficiency in Python and SQL and experience with large-scale real-time data.
- Experience with AWS, MLOps, and production-grade machine learning deployment and monitoring.
- Advanced NLP and text analytics experience, including entity recognition, event detection, and multilingual modeling.
- Experience with information retrieval, large-scale web scraping, search relevance, and vector databases.
- Knowledge of knowledge graphs and relationship modeling for risk intelligence and entity linkage.
- Bilingualism is required for daily communication outside Quebec.
