- Identify fabric types and apply appropriate cleaning methods

- Perform stain removal, mending, and minor repairs
- Maintain records of laundry schedules, care instructions, and item inventories
- Operate and maintain laundry machines, irons, steamers, and other equipment
- Manage supplies of detergents, softeners, stain removers, and related consumables
- Supervise and provide guidance to laundry assistants or junior housekeeping staff

Responsibilities
- Manage the day to day laundry process including sorting, washing, drying, ironing, steaming, folding and organising
- Identify fabric types and apply appropriate cleaning methods, detergents and temperature settings
- Attend to delicate and specialist items (silk, cashmere, lace, embroidered pieces) using hand wash or specialist care
- Perform stain removal, mending, minor repairs and liaise with professional dry cleaners or tailors
- Maintain records of laundry schedules, care instructions, and item inventories
- Operate and maintain laundry machines, irons, steamers and other equipment
- Manage supplies of detergents, softeners, stain removers and related consumables
- Supervise and provide guidance to any laundry assistants or junior housekeeping staff
- Coordinate with other household staff to prioritise laundry requirements
- Plan laundry schedules to meet household needs
