About the Role
We are seeking a dependable Laundry In Charge to manage laundry operations in a private household or luxury residence. Responsibilities include garment care, supervising laundry processes, and maintaining equipment.

Responsibilities
- Manage the day to day laundry process including sorting, washing, drying, ironing, steaming, folding and organising clothing, household linen and soft furnishings
- Identify fabric types and apply appropriate cleaning methods, detergents and temperature settings
- Attend to delicate and specialist items (silk, cashmere, lace, embroidered pieces) using hand wash or specialist care as required
- Perform stain removal, mending, minor repairs and liaise with professional dry cleaners or tailors for specialist services when necessary
- Maintain records of laundry schedules, care instructions, and item inventories; ensure organised storage and rotation of linens and uniforms
- Operate and maintain laundry machines, irons, steamers and other equipment; report faults and coordinate repairs
- Ensure machines are cleaned and descaled as per manufacturer guidance and follow safe operating procedures
- Manage supplies of detergents, softeners, stain removers and related consumables; inform employer of required stock and assist with ordering
- Supervise and provide guidance to any laundry assistants or junior housekeeping staff
- Coordinate with other household staff to prioritise laundry requirements for events, guests and daily routines
- Plan laundry schedules to meet household needs, including rush requirements for events or last minute requests
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a professional laundry, housekeeping or similar domestic role with responsibility for linen and garment care
- Knowledge of fabric care, stain removal techniques and experience with commercial or domestic laundry equipment
- Basic mending and garment care skills; experience liaising with dry cleaners and repair services is desirable

- Identify fabric types and apply appropriate cleaning methods, detergents and temperature settings to protect garments and extend their lifespan.
- Attend to delicate and specialist items (silk, cashmere, lace, embroidered pieces) using hand wash or specialist care as required.
- Perform stain removal, mending, minor repairs and liaise with professional dry cleaners or tailors for specialist services when necessary.
- Maintain records of laundry schedules, care instructions, and item inventories; ensure organised storage and rotation of linens and uniforms
