Role Overview
Oversee daily technical activities of a molecular diagnostics laboratory.
Support associated research and training activities.
Ensure workflows follow approved procedures, validated methods, quality requirements, and applicable regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise daily molecular laboratory activities, workflows, and staff assignments.
- Monitor sample processing, testing, quality control, documentation, and turnaround times.
- Ensure equipment, reagents, consumables, and laboratory areas are ready for use.
- Review quality control performance and investigate technical issues or deviations.
- Support validation, verification, and implementation of new laboratory tests.
- Coordinate equipment maintenance, calibration, qualification, and performance monitoring.
- Maintain laboratory records, inventories, logs, and traceability.
- Support staff training, competency assessment, research, and practical training programs.
- Support audits, inspections, accreditation, and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Medical Laboratory Science, Molecular Biology, Genetics, Biotechnology, or a related field.
- Minimum 3–5 years of relevant laboratory experience, preferably in molecular diagnostics.
- Experience with DNA/RNA extraction, PCR/qPCR, sequencing, and genomics is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of quality control, laboratory documentation, biosafety, and validation.
- Must meet applicable Saudi professional licensing or eligibility requirements.
