Responsibilities
- Wash and sanitize dishes, glassware, cutlery, pots, pans, and kitchen utensils
- Clean and maintain kitchen equipment, workstations, storage areas, and floors
- Ensure proper segregation and disposal of waste in accordance with hygiene standards
- Maintain cleanliness of dishwashing and stewarding areas at all times
- Follow food safety, hygiene, and sanitation procedures
- Assist in receiving, storing, and organizing kitchen supplies when required
- Refill cleaning chemicals and ensure proper usage according to safety guidelines
- Report damaged equipment or maintenance issues to the supervisor immediately
- Support kitchen staff with cleaning during food preparation and service hours
- Ensure all cleaning tools and equipment are properly maintained and stored
- Comply with company policies, health and safety regulations, and standard operating procedures
- Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor or management
Requirements
- High school education or equivalent preferred
- Previous experience in restaurant, hotel, or catering environment is an advantage
- Basic understanding of food hygiene and sanitation practices
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment
- Physically fit and capable of standing for extended periods and lifting moderate loads

Job Summary
- The Steward is responsible for maintaining cleanliness, hygiene, and organization in all kitchen and food preparation areas.
- The role ensures that all utensils, dishes, kitchen equipment, and workspaces are cleaned and sanitized according to food safety standards.
- The Steward also assists the kitchen team with basic cleaning and support duties to ensure smooth daily operations.
