- Assist in planning and directing food preparation activities while supervising junior kitchen staff
- Properly measure, portion, and prepare all food items according to specifications
- Cook all menu items to proper specifications in a timely manner

- Support menu planning initiatives
- Assist with inventory management and supply ordering
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitized workstation
- Uphold health codes and food safety protocols
- Perform opening, closing, and side work duties

- Support staff scheduling and provide constructive feedback

Job Description
- Assist in planning and directing food preparation activities while supervising junior kitchen staff and supporting their professional development.
- Properly measure, portion, and prepare all food items according to established specifications, quality standards, and departmental procedures.
- Cook all menu items to proper specifications in a timely manner, ensuring consistency and excellence with every plate.
- Operate and maintain kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including knives, slicers, pots, pans, steamers, grills, and ovens.
- Ensure proper food temperatures are maintained, food is stored correctly, and all items meet freshness and quality standards.
- Support menu planning initiatives and contribute innovative ideas to enhance culinary offerings.
- Assist with inventory management, supply ordering, and cost control while maintaining organizational efficiency.
- Maintain a clean, organized, sanitized, and well stocked workstation and kitchen equipment at all times.
- Uphold and enforce all health codes, sanitation regulations, and food safety protocols to ensure a safe kitchen environment.
- Perform opening, closing, and side work duties as instructed and according to established guidelines.
- Communicate effectively with kitchen staff and management to coordinate service and resolve challenges quickly and decisively.
- Support staff scheduling and provide constructive feedback when necessary, fostering a supportive and inclusive team culture.
Qualifications
- Cooperate and comply with Rixos Premium Saadiyat Island in regards to OSH instructions and safe working procedures.
- Take reasonable care for the health and safety of themselves, environment and others at work.
- Do not adversely interfere with anything provided for OSH.
- Cooperate with organization with respect to actions and/or action taken to protect the employee/ OSH requirements.
- Follow OSHMS procedures as applicable.
- Raise identified OSH issues with designated persons and take part in OSH consultative OSH requirements.
- Report all near miss/ hazard/ unsafe/ conditions or act.
- Use appropriate PPE and safety systems.
- Be familiar with emergency and evacuation procedures.
- Attend OSH training as required by the training needs analysis.
- Maintain all OSHMS records as required by the Rixos Premium Saadiyat Island.
Accountability
- Held accountable and committed whatever it takes to comply with the company's OSHMS Policies, OSHMS Procedure, & Operational Works Instruction and any other relevant legislation applies within the organization.
- Held accountable to take care of his own health and safety, other person in the workplace that may be affected by their acts or omission at work.
