Junior Design Engineer

Role Overview

Core Design Work

• Prepare equipment, piping, structural, civil, and cable tray 3D models.
• Develop civil, equipment, piping, cable tray, and pipe support engineering drawings.
• Prepare as-built drawings using AutoCAD.
• Apply equipment and piping layout design practices and relevant ASME codes.

Analysis and Commercial Documentation

• Prepare structural and pipe stress analysis packages, including weight datasheets.
• Develop material requisitions and review supplier technical offers.
• Prepare techno-commercial bid evaluation tabs.

Reviews and Collaboration

• Conduct peer reviews and 3D model reviews from concept to completion.
• Manage technical documentation and collaborate across disciplines.
• Contribute to water treatment system projects while following ISO quality procedures.

Must-Have Requirements

• Diploma or engineering degree in mechanical engineering.
• 1–2 years of mechanical design experience in water, power, oil and gas, or a related industry.
• Ability to create 3D models from P&IDs, equipment and instrument datasheets, valve and piping lists, and PMS documents using Plant 3D or Revit.
• Ability to prepare structural and pipe stress analysis packages, including weight datasheets.
• Proficiency in material requisitions, supplier technical offer reviews, and techno-commercial bid evaluations.

Good-to-Have Requirements

• Ability to draft equipment and foundation layouts using AutoCAD.
• Ability to calculate pipe support span lengths, review 3D models, perform simple-load stress analysis, and select pipe supports.
• Proficiency in conducting 3D model reviews from concept to completion.

Software and Work Location

• Required software knowledge includes AutoCAD and AutoDesk Plant 3D; 3D modeling software may include Plant 3D and Revit.
• The job location is Chennai.
• Work is performed in person.

Compensation

• Pay is ₹15,000.00–₹45,753.69 per month.
