Junior Accountant

In addition to the responsibilities listed herein, the employee may be required to perform other ad-hoc tasks as needed or directed by the supervisor or management.

These tasks will be within the reasonable scope of the employee's skills, capabilities, and role within the organization.

The intent of this provision is to allow for flexibility and adaptability in meeting the dynamic needs of the organization, ensuring that operational requirements can be met efficiently.

All such tasks will be assigned considering the employee's current workload and with respect to their professional development.

Your knowledge/skills, education, and experience: Knowledge/ Qualification/ Training/ Certification:

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
• Progress toward a Chartered Professional Accountant designation or an equivalent professional accounting designation is preferred.
• Relevant accounting experience involving journal entries, account reconciliations, month-end close, and financial reporting support.
• Working knowledge of accounting principles, general ledger processes, balance-sheet reconciliations, and internal controls.
• Ability to analyze account activity, investigate discrepancies, and prepare clear supporting documentation.
• Experience supporting internal or external audits would be an asset.
• Experience in a multi-entity, shared-services, engineering, energy, construction, professional-services, or project-based environment would be an asset.
• Experience with Oracle ERP or another enterprise financial system is preferred.
• Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel and standard Microsoft Office applications. Communication:
• Excellent command of the English language in both oral and written communication.
• Ability to communicate accounting information and outstanding requirements clearly to Finance and non-Finance stakeholders.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively across teams and functions.
• Ability to ask appropriate questions, seek clarification, and escalate issues in a timely and professional manner.
