Kent is looking for a Piping Designer to be based in our Corpus Christi, TX office and support regional project site(s).
You will prepare or modify designs for piping projects, or arranging for, or instructing, others to do this.
Designs include drawings, design details, specifications, bills of quantity and design calculations.
Responsibilities
- Manage the design processes involved in a piping project, including ensuring that drawings are ready on time, reviewing designs and making them available to the appropriate people.
- Liaise with clients on design-related matters.
- Establish and maintain effective methods of communication between the teams involved in design work throughout the project.
- Maintain records and documents throughout the project.
- Assess, mitigate and manage risks connected with design.
- Ensure designs and design work meet health and safety legislation, sustainable building standards (such as BREEAM the Building Research Establishment’s Environmental Assessment Method) and industry codes of practice.
- Manage the design team.
- Chair design meetings, writing reports and giving presentations.
In addition to the responsibilities listed herein, the employee may be required to perform other ad-hoc tasks as needed or directed by the supervisor or management.
These tasks will be within the reasonable scope of the employee's skills, capabilities, and role within the organization.
