Role Description

  • This full time, remote IT Support Officer (Entry / Junior Level) role focuses on providing first line technical assistance to internal users.
  • The IT Support Officer will respond to service requests, resolve basic hardware and software issues, and escalate more complex problems to senior team members when needed.
  • Daily tasks include diagnosing and troubleshooting desktop computer and printer issues, installing and updating standard software, and supporting users through email, chat, or video calls.
  • The role also involves documenting incidents and resolutions, maintaining accurate asset records, and following established IT policies and procedures.
  • The IT Support Officer collaborates with the IT team to improve support processes and contributes to a reliable and secure technology environment.

Qualifications

  • Strong foundation in Information Technology, including basic understanding of operating systems, networks, and common business applications.
  • Hands on Technical Support and Troubleshooting skills, with the ability to identify issues, follow diagnostic steps, and apply solutions or escalate appropriately.
  • Practical experience or knowledge of Desktop Computers, including setup, configuration, and routine maintenance.
  • Ability to provide Printer Support, such as installation, connectivity, and resolving printing errors.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills, with a customer focused mindset and ability to explain technical concepts in simple terms.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment, manage time effectively, and prioritize multiple support requests.
  • Relevant education in IT, computer science, or related field (certificate, diploma, or degree); entry level certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+) are a plus.
  • Willingness to learn, adapt to new tools and technologies, and follow inclusive and non discriminatory workplace practices.
