About the Role
The role requires a highly skilled mechanical engineer with extensive design, consultancy, and site supervision experience in irrigation and water infrastructure projects.
The successful candidate will oversee water-system design and implementation while ensuring compliance with industry standards and client specifications.
Responsibilities
- Oversee irrigation and water infrastructure design and implementation.
- Conduct hydraulic calculations, pressure testing, troubleshooting, and pump performance assessments.
- Prepare and review engineering calculations, designs, drawings, specifications, procurement documents, installation packages, and reports.
- Define engineering problems, scope, schedules, activities, technical direction, and progress monitoring.
- Review and approve technical submittals, material proposals, shop drawings, method statements, and contractor submissions.
- Coordinate design requirements with site execution and resolve construction discrepancies.
- Supervise contractors, inspect installations, verify compliance, and witness testing and commissioning.
- Recommend suitable systems, materials, and products for water quality, irrigation efficiency, and sustainability.
- Prepare irrigation, water consumption, pump performance, inspection, and progress reports.
- Conduct technical audits and ensure compliance with specifications, authority requirements, quality standards, and approved designs.
- Supervise junior engineers, technicians, and site personnel and provide technical feedback.
- Coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors, and project teams.
Requirements
- At least five years of relevant professional experience in mechanical engineering.
- Experience in irrigation, water infrastructure, pumping systems, design, consultancy, and site supervision.
- Knowledge of Dubai infrastructure networks and applicable Dubai Municipality requirements.
- Dubai Municipality-approved Mechanical Engineer is required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication and coordination abilities.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and relevant engineering or design software.
