Inventory Controller - Logistics

Job Purpose

About the Company

Strategic Responsibilities

• Own business inventory and overall inventory management operations.
• Optimize warehouse storage space using ABC analysis and heat map analysis.
• Implement stock-loss action plans with the Loss Prevention Team.
• Monitor warehouse damages and develop mitigation plans with inbound and outbound operations.
• Execute warehouse shrinkage analysis and reduction activities.
• Ensure the timeliness and integrity of inventory transactions.

Functional Responsibilities

• Investigate inventory discrepancies from cycle counts or picking and rectify them within required timelines.
• Oversee inter-warehouse and warehouse-to-store stock transfers and ensure movements are recorded.
• Provide updates on pending transfers, warehouse cycle counts, and trouble-coded inventory.
• Coordinate supplier returns with suppliers and buying teams.
• Track warehouse logs, credit notes, and RTV adjustments and submit them to FSS.
• Process credit notes, RTVs, write-offs, and general adjustments through the system and report them to finance.
• Monitor daily transactions, investigate discrepancies, and review the resolution status of control logs.
• Manage the perpetual stock-take calendar and communicate the plan to relevant managers and stock-take teams.
• Prepare monthly shrinkage reports with business inventory managers.
• Report on expired and obsolete goods and manage their disposal or return to vendors.
• Oversee physical stock counts, review results, and reconcile figures by auditing stock movements.
• Prepare findings reports and provide recommendations to management.

People and HSE Responsibilities

• Coach and motivate reportees, provide feedback, and support their development.
• Review operational processes for risks and escalate concerns to the site HSE committee.
• Maintain HSE practices to reduce property damage and injury risks.
• Communicate operational performance and upcoming events to the team.
• Support a positive work environment and reduction of attrition, sickness, and absence.

Education and Experience

• Graduate with excellent knowledge of warehousing and inventory management.
• 3-5 years of experience in warehousing and inventory management.
• Knowledge of an ecommerce retail environment.

Knowledge and Skills

• Computer literacy and excellent Microsoft Excel skills.
• Knowledge of Oracle WMS is preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Good analytical skills.
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail.

• English.
