Role overview
This is a paid engineering internship with real production responsibility, not a course or shadowing programme.
The Process Engineering team builds and runs automated business workflows in Risk and Credit.
The role validates, monitors, debugs and reports on workflow automation rather than designing the automation itself.
Release validation and regression testing
- Run smoke and regression passes before workflow and system releases go live.
- Verify bug fixes and configuration changes across affected processes.
- Maintain release sign-off checklists and flag changes that are not ready to ship.
- Track tested items, results and open issues for informed release decisions.
Bug investigation and triage
- Reproduce issues, isolate triggering conditions and identify where failures originate in workflows.
- Inspect API requests and responses for bad payloads, unexpected responses, broken integrations or downstream errors.
- Read application logs, execution traces and error messages before escalating.
- Write reproducible bug reports with steps, expected and actual behavior, environment, severity and evidence.
- Triage business-team reports, remove noise and duplicates, and route valid problems to the right owner.
Workflow monitoring
- Monitor running automations and integrations and identify failures before users report them.
- Investigate failed or stuck runs and determine whether the cause is configuration, integration failure or a system defect.
- Perform safe reruns and recovery steps for known failure patterns under guidance.
- Track recurring failures and surface patterns that warrant permanent fixes.
Test cases and documentation
- Execute, review and update test cases as workflows evolve.
- Keep test data, environment notes and process documentation current.
- Identify coverage gaps and propose test cases for recurring missed scenarios.
- Contribute known issues, workarounds and debugging playbooks to a shared knowledge base.
Cross-team collaboration
- Work with business stakeholders, system analysts, product managers and engineers to confirm expected behavior and validate fixes.
- Communicate testing status and blockers early in language that technical and non-technical teams can act on.
- Support end users during workflow rollouts by verifying real-world scenarios.
Skills and expertise
- Recent graduate in computer science, engineering, information systems or a related field.
- Working understanding of REST APIs, HTTP status codes and JSON payloads, with the ability to send calls using Postman.
- Basic Python or JavaScript scripting to read existing automation scripts and make small adjustments.
- Strong analytical instincts, attention to detail and a structured documentation-friendly approach.
- Clear written English and willingness to learn, ask questions and own work end to end.
- QA fundamentals including test cases, regression testing, the bug lifecycle, severity and priority.
- Hands-on API testing with Postman collections, environment variables, chained requests or basic API test automation.
- Familiarity with webhooks, API-key or OAuth authentication, API documentation, workflow automation or issue trackers is advantageous.
Internship details
- The internship lasts six months and starts in autumn 2026.
- The internship is paid and funded by Tabby.
- Interns are fully integrated into the Process Engineering team in Risk and Credit.

- A later junior role may be possible based on internship performance, but it is not guaranteed.
