Role Details
- Department: Projects / Design & Quality.
- Reports to the Head of Projects or VP Projects.
- Location: Site-based in Dubai, UAE, across villa and residential development projects.
- Employment type: Full-time.
Design Quality Assurance
- Review and validate FF&E, joinery, finishes, lighting, and material packages against approved design documents before execution.
- Conduct site walkthroughs and inspections at each construction and fit-out stage.
- Resolve discrepancies between design drawings and site execution before costly rework.
- Ensure fit-out, custom production, and project mock-up installations follow approved interior design packages and quality standards.
Site Coordination
- Act as the on-site authority for interior design matters with contractors, subcontractors, joinery workshops, and FF&E suppliers.
- Coordinate with design consultants to clarify details, resolve site queries, and manage design changes.
- Align interior design milestones with the overall construction programme.
- Inspect fit-out installations and prepare reports for design leadership reviews and approvals.
Quality Control and Standards
- Develop interior finishing benchmarks, snag-list protocols, and inspection checklists for villa and residential standards.
- Own snagging and de-snagging for interior scopes through handover.
- Approve material and finish samples or mock-ups before full rollout.
- Sign off site installations related to interior design, custom furniture, and lighting manufacturing.
Documentation and Stakeholders
- Maintain logs of design queries, approvals, variations, and quality inspection reports.
- Provide progress and quality reports and flag design-execution, material lead-time, and contractor-performance risks.
- Represent design quality interests in site coordination meetings and support procurement in evaluating vendors.
- Liaise with ownership or client representatives on design quality matters as required.
Experience
- Minimum 8 years of interior design experience with significant site-based execution on high-end villa or luxury residential projects.
- Proven experience overseeing interior fit-out quality from design through handover.
- Experience with contractors, joinery workshops, and FF&E suppliers in a live construction environment.
- Custom or bespoke manufacturing experience with high-end global suppliers across residential and luxury hospitality.
Education and Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD or relevant design software for reviewing drawings.
- Familiarity with project management and reporting tools.
- Fluent English; Arabic is a plus in the UAE site environment.
