Instructional Designer

We are now accepting applications for a qualified Instructional Designer at Belmont University.

The Instructional Designer partners with faculty and academic units to design and develop high-quality learning experiences across multiple modalities.

This role leads the instructional design process from analysis through implementation, applying evidence-based learning theories, design frameworks, and institutional standards.

The position exists to ensure that courses and programs are aligned with learning outcomes, scalable across offerings, and designed to promote meaningful learner engagement and success.

• Lead instructional design for courses and programs by guiding faculty and subject matter experts through a structured design process from concept to delivery.
• Design and develop learning experiences and course materials, including assessments, learning activities, and instructional content aligned with best practices in pedagogy and adult learning.
• Apply design standards and quality assurance frameworks (e.g., backward design, Quality Matters, UDL) to ensure consistency, accessibility, and high-quality learning experiences.
• Manage multiple design projects simultaneously, including timelines, deliverables, and stakeholder communication, ensuring efficient and timely course development.
• Evaluate and improve course effectiveness using student feedback, course analytics, and faculty input to inform ongoing revisions and enhancements.
• Contribute to design practices, including the development of templates, documentation, and standards that support consistency across programs.
