As a Senior Infrastructure Engineer on our Digital & Technology team, you will lead the migration and modernization of enterprise Microsoft SQL Server databases to the public cloud. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Lead Microsoft SQL Server migration and modernization to the public cloud.
Migrate SQL Server workloads to GCP or other public cloud platforms.
Own migration processes, documentation, automation, and tooling.
Administer mission-critical SQL Server 2019 and 2022 platforms in a 24/7 environment.
Implement and support SQL Server Availability Groups.
Implement and support Distributed Availability Groups.
Perform database tuning, capacity planning, backup and recovery, patching, and upgrades.
Use PowerShell to automate provisioning, monitoring, and support processes.
Use Terraform to provision and manage database infrastructure in cloud environments.
Meet cloud security standards and reduce operational and security risk.
Collaborate with application stakeholders to resolve tickets.
Resolve failures and critical alerts within an Agile framework.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Experience: 5 + years administering, designing, modernizing, or migrating enterprise SQL Server databases.
Core Technical Skills: SQL Server 2019 and 2022; Availability Groups; Distributed Availability Groups; PowerShell; and terraform.
High Availability and Recovery: Experience with HA, DR, backup and recovery, tuning, and production support.
Cloud Experience: Experience with cloud adoption, security, governance, and integration.
Automation and DevOps: Experience automating provisioning, support, monitoring, and lifecycle operations with PowerShell and Terraform.
Operating Systems: Strong Windows Server and Windows clustering experience; Linux is beneficial.
Engineering Practices: Working knowledge of DevOps and Agile practices and proofs of concept.
Service Orientation: Experience designing user-centric database services, including self-service provisioning.
