Role Overview
AWS Infrastructure Services designs, delivers, and operates global cloud infrastructure, including data centers, servers, networks, power, and cooling.
The Cabling Infrastructure Technician supports data center cabling and physical network infrastructure activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Follow data center security and safety best practices.
- Install and test copper and fiber optic cabling.
- Create and attach labels and barcodes.
- Use power meters, light sources, OTDRs, VFLs, Fluke network analyzers, and other cabling test equipment.
- Perform basic network device builds and troubleshooting.
- Manage related materials inventory and coordinate daily site deliveries.
- Follow escalation processes and standard operating procedures.
- Work in noisy, hot, cold, elevated, and confined areas, including beneath raised floors.
- Use a ticketing system and travel within the assigned geographical work area.
Basic Qualifications
- Diploma or graduation in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- At least 1–2 years of project management or operations planning experience.
- At least 1–2 years of physical network infrastructure deployment and troubleshooting experience.
