Role Overview

The HYCO Operations Shift Supervisor manages and supervises the operations shift team for BHIG facilities.

Facilities include a Hydrogen Steam Methane Reformer, carbon dioxide removal and compression, HPSA, membrane systems, utilities, and pipelines.

Core Accountabilities

  • Manage daily plant shift operations and coordinate with customers, suppliers, maintenance, and engineering.
  • Provide a safe work environment and lead compliance with company and industry safety processes.
  • Direct HYCO unit operations and lead start-ups, shutdowns, emergencies, and outage preparation.
  • Ensure safety, reliability, maintainability, quality, environmental compliance, and customer service targets.
  • Manage production using data-driven decisions to achieve operational and energy-efficiency targets.
  • Coach, train, and develop operations personnel and build plant technical capability.
  • Participate in incident investigations and Root Cause Analysis and implement sustainable corrective actions.
  • Maintain accurate logs, review event and leak records, assign actions, and complete team work lists.
  • Implement mitigation plans for emergency and high-level safety, environmental, availability, utilization, and energy risks.

Minimum Requirements and Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree in chemical, mechanical, or chemical process operations is preferred; an associate technical degree may be considered.
  • At least 10 years of relevant gas, petrochemical, operations, engineering, or maintenance experience, including 4 or more years in line supervision of process operations.
  • Proven multi-team coordination across operations, engineering, and maintenance.
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal, teamwork, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage daily customer interactions.
  • Wide technical knowledge of operations, engineering, and maintenance activities.
  • Proficiency in spoken and written English.
  • Knowledge of local environmental, health, and safety requirements.

Operating Environment

  • The supervisor is expected to engage in plant operations when required.
  • The role supports physical HYCO production facilities, utilities, equipment, and pipeline operations.
