Human Resources - Summer Student

Duties & Responsibilities

• Prepares New Hire information package, including coordinating of printing and ordering of 3rd party pamphlets as required;
• Assists with conducting of New Hire Orientation sessions;
• Maintains and audits personnel files, and assists with archiving of both electronic and hard copy files, and organization of the file room;
• Responds promptly to candidate, employee, and Hiring Manager inquiries;
• Creates and posts job descriptions, and creates interview guides;
• Conducts pre-screen telephone interviews and reference checks;
• Provides support in interview process, including the scheduling of interviews;
• Responsible for completion of Authorization to Hire forms and offer packages;
• Inputs data to Recom for new hire entries, transfers and terminations;
• Prepares employment verification letters;
• Maintains and updates various spreadsheets used to track recruitment and other initiatives;
• Assists with Training and Tuition Expediture form process, and other training activities and initiatives; and
• All other adhoc job duties as required;
• Enrollment in a University or Post-secondary program (preferably HR oriented) is an asset;
• Prior administrative experience is a definite asset;
• Must display the flexibility, adaptability, and willingness to complete various HR-related tasks;
• Excellent verbal/written communication skills and superb interpersonal skills;
• Strong work ethic, a high respect for confidentiality and sound professional judgment and initiative; and
• Strong Microsoft Office skills required.
