THE POSITION

The Human Resource Office for General Government is offering an exciting opportunity to grow your skills as a Human Resource Analyst 1. This role allows you to support important employee relations work that helps maintain fairness and clear communication across many offices. You will have a chance to collaborate with leaders and staff to help resolve issues and strengthen workplace practices. This position provides a meaningful way to support employees while expanding your human resources knowledge.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This position supports employee relations activities by helping investigate concerns, review workplace issues, and guide managers on policies and procedures. It also assists with performance management, unemployment claims, and the State Employee Assistance Program (SEAP). As a Human Resource Analyst 1, you will perform the following duties: Case Review: Examine grievances and related information to support consistent responses Information Gathering: Collect facts needed for investigations and analyses Appeal Support: Assist agency attorneys with Civil Service appeals, Human Relations Commission complaints, and Equal Employment Opportunity Commission complaints Contract Application: Learn how to apply provisions of contracts, memoranda of understanding, side letters, and local agreements Agreement Assistance: Help review or develop proposed Local Agreements for offices, boards, councils, or commissions Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Successful completion of the Human Resource Management Trainee program (Commonwealth title); or One year as a Human Resource Assistant 2 or an Equal Opportunity Assistant (Commonwealth titles); or One year of paraprofessional analytical experience and a bachelor’s degree; or An equivalent combination of experience and training. You must be able to perform essential job functions. This position is not subject to the provisions of a collective bargaining agreement or memorandum of understanding.
