About the Role
AECOM is seeking an experienced HSE Engineer for rail/metro projects in Dubai. The role involves implementing and monitoring health, safety, and environmental systems, conducting inspections, audits, and risk assessments, and promoting a strong safety culture.

Responsibilities
- Ensure full compliance with project HSE requirements, local regulations, and international standards
- Monitor and enforce implementation of the approved HSE Plan across all project activities
- Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and ensure corrective actions
- Review method statements, risk assessments, and permit to work systems to ensure alignment with HSE requirements
- Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses, and prepare detailed reports with root cause analysis and preventive measures
- Deliver HSE inductions, toolbox talks, and awareness sessions to project personnel
- Maintain accurate records of HSE performance, including statistics, reports, and compliance documentation
- Liaise with contractors, consultants, and client representatives on all HSE related matters
- Support emergency preparedness and response planning, including drills and coordination
- Promote a proactive safety culture and continuous improvement in HSE performance
Requirements
- Not less than 10 years of experience in HSE management within similar projects (infrastructure, construction, or engineering)
- Experience on rail or metro projects is advantageous
- Strong knowledge of international HSE standards and best practices
- Experience in implementing HSE management systems on large scale projects
- Excellent communication, reporting, and stakeholder management skills
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline
- Professional HSE certifications (such as NEBOSH or equivalent) will be an advantage
