Job responsibilities
- Implement and monitor HSE policies, procedures, and site safety plans.
- Conduct site inspections and identify hazards and risks.
- Ensure compliance with HSE regulations, project requirements, and safety standards.
- Prepare risk assessments, method statements, toolbox talks, and HSE reports.
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses and recommend corrective actions.
- Conduct safety inductions, training, and toolbox meetings.
- Monitor contractors and subcontractors for safe working practices.
- Coordinate HSE matters with project management, engineers, and site teams.
- Ensure proper PPE use and compliance with safe work procedures.
- Maintain HSE documentation, inspection records, and incident reports.
- Support emergency preparedness and conduct emergency drills.
- Promote a strong safety culture throughout the project.
Requirements
- A Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Engineering, HSE, or a related field is required.
- Relevant HSE certification such as NEBOSH or IOSH is preferred.
- Proven HSE Engineer experience on high-rise building or major construction projects is required.
- Strong knowledge of construction safety standards and risk management is required.
- Excellent communication and reporting skills are required.
- UAE or GCC project experience is preferred.
Work environment
- The role involves regular construction site inspections and coordination with site personnel, contractors, and project teams.
