About the Role
WSP Middle East is seeking a highly skilled HSE Engineer to manage health, safety and environmental arrangements for major construction projects in Al Ain. The role requires a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, NEBOSH IGC, and 7+ years of experience in construction HSE.

Responsibilities
- Manage health, safety and environmental arrangements for the project against WSP HSEQ/client HSEQ Management System requirements
- Manage HSE Inspectors to ensure monitoring of health and safety arrangements at project site level
- Develop and deliver health, safety and environmental training to WSP employees
- Review and approve contractor’s health, safety and environmental plans, risk assessments and method statements
- Plan daily morning site visits across project sites to ensure health and safety measures are in place
- Carry out weekly joint HSE inspections with HSE Inspectors and contractor personnel
- Organise HSE meetings with clients, WSP project staff, and contractors
- Initiate and test emergency response plans and ensure drills are carried out as per project schedule
- Ensure HSE Inspectors follow up on contractor’s incident investigation reports and corrective actions
- Conduct regular site safety reviews and liaise with enforcement authorities
- Prepare and submit monthly HSE reports in conjunction with contractor personnel and to the client
Requirements
- Bachelor Degree in Engineering or relevant subject
- Minimum NEBOSH IGC qualification
- Minimum 7+ years experience in major construction projects
- Excellent communication skills and ability to influence
- Proficiency in English
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio)

Description
- WSP Middle East is seeking a highly skilled Health and Safety officer to ensure Health & Safety policies are effectively embedded across projects, sites and office environments in compliance with local and international rules and regulations.
Responsibilities
- Manage the health, safety and environmental arrangements for the project against the WSP HSEQ / client HSEQ Management System requirements.
- Manage HSE Inspectors to ensure they are monitoring the implementation of health and safety arrangements at project site level.
- Develop and deliver health, safety and environmental training to WSP employees including induction, safe working practices.
- Review and approve contractor’s health, safety and environmental plans, risk assessments and method statements.
- Plan daily morning site visits across project sites to ensure health and safety measures are in place before works begins.
- Carry out weekly joint HSE inspections with HSE Inspectors and contractor personnel and ensure all corrective/preventive actions are closed out.
- Organise HSE meetings with clients, WSP project staff, and contractors.
- Initiate and test emergency response plans and ensure the drills are carried out as per the project schedule and performance standards.
- Ensure HSE Inspectors follow up on contractor’s incident investigation reports and corrective actions are identified and closed out.
- Conduct regular site safely reviews and liaise with enforcement authorities (PCFC, EHS Checks).
- Prepare and submit monthly HSE reports in conjunction with contractor personnel and to the client.
Qualifications
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence.
- Proficiency in English.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Visio.
- Bachelor Degree in Engineering or relevant subject.
- Must be qualified with relevant Health and Safety Qualifications Minimum NEBOSH IGC.
- Minimum 07+ years’ experience in dealing with major construction projects.
