Job Summary

Responsible for initiating, overseeing and ensuring that an effective Occupational Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) Program is in place.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement comprehensive health, safety, and environmental policies in accordance with legal and corporate guidelines.
  • Coordinate with the heads of department in the implementation of the HSE program.
  • Keep all relevant staff informed about changes in safety directives and procedures.
  • Promote a strong culture of safety through engagement programs that motivate adherence to H&S regulations.
  • Ensure consistent employee involvement in HSE activities through collaboration with the HoDs, functional team leaders and supervisors.
  • Identify and manage safety risks by implementing control measures and reviewing effectiveness via risk assessments and job safety analyses.
  • Lead incident investigations, analyze trends, and apply lessons learned to prevent recurrence.
  • Conduct inspections, audits, and recommend corrective actions to maintain safe working conditions.
  • Develop and deliver targeted safety training based on identified skills and competency gaps.
  • Maintain current knowledge of legislation and regulatory requirements related to health, safety, and environmental matters that impact the organization.
  • Ensure compliance with laws and company standards, maintain documentation, support team development, and monitor internal control systems.

Education

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering
  • Professional qualification in HSE or NEBOSH IGC or Equivalent
  • Work Experience
  • Minimum 05 years work experience in the supervision of health & safety, ideally within the industry or a closely related field.
  • Strong understanding of the legal health and safety guidelines relevant to the industry.

Other Skills Required

  • Fluent in the English language
  • Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
  • Proficient use of HSE management software and tools.
