Role Overview
The HR and Safety Coordinator supports human resources and workplace health and safety programs across a growing multi-location organization.
The role covers employee relations, compliance, onboarding, training administration, workplace safety, and HR operations.
Human Resources Responsibilities
- Coordinate onboarding and new hire documentation.
- Maintain employee records and HRIS data integrity.
- Support recruitment, interview scheduling, benefits administration, and employee inquiries.
- Prepare HR reports, trackers, and workforce analytics.
- Support policy administration, compliance requirements, communications, engagement, recognition, and process improvement.
Health and Safety Responsibilities
- Support workplace health and safety programs across multiple locations.
- Monitor training requirements and compliance records.
- Coordinate safety meetings, inspections, follow-up actions, audits, and compliance activities.
- Maintain safety documentation and incident records and assist with WorkSafeBC reporting.
- Track corrective actions, investigations, and safety initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma or degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Occupational Health and Safety, or a related field.
- 2–5 years of relevant experience in HR, health and safety, training administration, compliance coordination, or administration.
- Strong organization, attention to detail, prioritization, and follow-through.
- Professional, approachable, service-oriented communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365, business systems, HRIS platforms, and reporting tools.
- Interest in HR compliance, workplace safety, training administration, and continuous improvement.
Preferred Qualifications
- CPHR designation or active pursuit of the designation.
- Health and Safety training or a related certification.
- Experience with benefits administration, HR reporting, or multi-location operations.
- Interest in process automation, analytics, and modern HR technology.
