Housekeeping Supervisor

Role Overview

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise daily operations and assign work to room attendants and cleaners.
• Train and mentor team members on cleaning techniques, standard procedures, safety, and guest service.
• Conduct inspections of guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces.
• Check cleaned rooms for linens, toiletries, cleanliness, and overall guest satisfaction.
• Correct areas that do not meet standards promptly.
• Monitor supplies, coordinate orders within budget, and maintain monthly inventories.
• Respond to housekeeping requests and resolve guest complaints.
• Ensure safe chemical handling and compliance with hotel health and safety requirements.
• Report maintenance issues and create daily schedules and room assignments.
• Maintain records and assist with performance reports and employee evaluations.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Minimum 3-5 years of housekeeping experience in a luxury or five-star hotel.
• At least 1-2 years of supervisory experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent; a Hotel Management, Hospitality, or related degree or diploma is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of luxury housekeeping, cleaning, sanitation, and guest service standards.
• Leadership, communication, interpersonal, organizational, multitasking, and attention-to-detail skills are required.
• English proficiency is required; additional languages are a plus.
• Familiarity with hotel property management systems and Microsoft Office is required.
• Physical stamina and availability for flexible hours, weekends, and holidays are required.

General Duties

• Follow team-member handbook rules and hotel fire, hygiene, health, and safety policies.
• Report punctually in the correct uniform and maintain grooming and personal hygiene standards.
• Maintain positive working relationships with hotel staff and other departments.
• Attend staff meetings, departmental and hotel training, and related activities.
• Support departmental training and adapt to changes in housekeeping functions.
• Provide courteous and professional service and maintain a positive, motivated attitude.
• Assist with quarterly, bi-yearly, and annual operating-equipment inventories.
