Key Responsibilities
- Carry out daily cleaning duties throughout the residence to a high standard, including dusting, vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, polishing surfaces and furniture, cleaning bathrooms and kitchens, and maintaining presentation of living areas and guest rooms.
- Perform periodic deep cleaning tasks such as oven and refrigerator cleaning, window and blind cleaning, carpet and upholstery care, and spring/deep cleans as scheduled or requested.
- Manage bedroom preparation and turnover for household members and guests: make beds to presentation standards, change and launder bed linens, and ensure wardrobes and drawers are neat and organised.
- Handle laundry tasks when required, including washing, drying, ironing, folding and careful storage of linens and everyday garments; escalate specialist garment care to the Laundry In Charge or external providers.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of utility and storage areas; ensure supplies are stocked and stored correctly and report items that require replenishment or replacement.
- Follow household cleaning schedules and checklists; record completed tasks and report any maintenance issues, damages or safety concerns to the housekeeping manager or head of household.
- Adhere to correct use and safe storage of cleaning products and equipment, following health and safety guidance and household protocols for chemical handling.
- Assist with event preparation and post‑event cleaning, including setting up or clearing away furniture, polishing tableware and managing waste removal as required.
- Work with discretion and maintain confidentiality at all times; present a polite, calm and helpful manner when interacting with household members, guests and external contractors.
- Undertake additional reasonable duties related to household upkeep as requested to support smooth daily operations.
