Position Summary

1. Qualifications

• **Education:**
• Minimum Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, or a closely related field from an accredited university.
• A Master's degree in a relevant educational field is highly preferred.
• Successful Ministry of Education (MOE) equivalency of educational qualifications (required for all foreign degrees in the UAE).
• **Certification:**
• Possession of a valid, professional teaching license or certification in Early Childhood Education or Elementary Education

2. Experience Requirements

• 4 years of full-time, post-qualification teaching experience as a Homeroom Teacher in a Kindergarten (KG) or Early Years setting.
• Demonstrated experience teaching the American curriculum, specifically aligned with Common Core State Standards (CCSS) for Kindergarten.
• Previous experience teaching within an international school environment is highly advantageous.

3. Skills Required

• **Instructional & Technical:**
• Exceptional classroom management and organizational skills, specifically tailored for early learners.
• Proficiency in developing and implementing engaging, age-appropriate lessons that align with American curriculum standards.
• Competence in integrating educational technology into daily teaching and learning (e.g., interactive whiteboards, Google Workspace for Education).
• **Interpersonal & Soft Skills:**
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) for effective interaction with students, parents, and colleagues from diverse cultural backgrounds.
• Ability to collaborate effectively within a team-oriented academic environment.
• Strong adaptability, resilience, and a proactive approach to challenges inherent in a dynamic international school setting.
• Culturally sensitive and respectful of the diverse community in the UAE.
• Creativity, enthusiasm, and a genuine passion for early childhood development and learning.

4. Curriculum Knowledge

• In-depth knowledge and practical application of the American curriculum framework, with a specific focus on Common Core State Standards (CCSS) for Kindergarten in English Language Arts, Mathematics, and inquiry-based learning.
• Familiarity with US-based early childhood assessment tools and reporting methods relevant to the American curriculum.
• Ability to differentiate instruction effectively to meet the diverse needs, abilities, and learning styles of KG students within the American curriculum framework.

5. UAE-Specific Requirements

• Full compliance with all regulations and standards set forth by the Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge (ADEK).
• Willingness and eligibility to undergo the ADEK teacher licensing and approval process upon hire.
• Understanding and appreciation of the local culture, traditions, and educational context of the United Arab Emirates.
