About the Role

  • The Higher Level Learning Support Assistant (HLTA) leads the delivery of targeted interventions for students with SEND, while managing the operational and administrative systems that underpin the school's inclusion provision.
  • This role combines direct student support with strategic coordination—planning intervention timetables, administering access arrangements, and ensuring seamless exam logistics.
  • The HLTA champions an inclusive culture, promotes pupil independence, and works collaboratively with teaching staff to ensure all learners make outstanding progress.

The ideal candidate

  • Experience of providing core subject (math, English, Science) support to secondary aged students (Years 7 – 11)
  • Experience of supporting neurodiverse students; including planning and delivering small group and 1:1 support session for students with neurodiverse profiles
  • Previous and relevant experience of working as a Learning Support Assistant or Secondary Teacher
  • Previous experience of working within the British curriculum across secondary to GCSE/IGCSE level
  • Relevant qualifications

  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • A friendly and professional manner
  • Strong English skills – spoken and written

Additional Requirements

  • The candidate will be required to prepare and deliver one to one and small group teaching sessions for secondary aged students.
  • The ability to work alongside other stakeholders to enhance student participation is paramount for this role.
  • The candidate will be supporting students, teachers and parents to develop personalised educational plans (PEPs) and develop the provision according to the student’s specific needs.
  • The candidate will work alongside the Secondary Head of Inclusion as well as a dynamic Personalised Learning Team.

Start Date and Contract

  • This is a full time position, starting from 24th August 2026.
  • The start date can be extended depending on the notice period, early applications are appreciated.
  • Remuneration is competitive and it includes visa provision.
