- Lead, supervise, and support the barista team during daily operations
- Prepare and serve high quality specialty coffee and espresso based beverages with precision and consistency
- Train, mentor, and develop baristas in coffee preparation techniques, customer service, and equipment handling
- Monitor daily coffee bar operations, ensuring smooth service during peak and off peak hours
- Maintain cleanliness, organization, and food safety standards
- Perform regular calibration of espresso machines and grinders
- Monitor inventory levels of coffee beans, milk, syrups, and bar supplies, and coordinate replenishment
- Collaborate with kitchen and front of house teams to ensure seamless guest service
- Assist in developing seasonal beverages, coffee promotions, and menu innovations
- Address guest feedback professionally and resolve service issues promptly
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Head Barista or Senior Specialty Coffee Barista in a specialty coffee environment
- Strong knowledge of espresso extraction, milk texturing, brewing methods, coffee origins, and specialty coffee standards
- Leadership experience with the ability to train, motivate, and supervise a team
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills
- Strong organizational and time management abilities
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast paced, high volume environment
- Flexible to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays

Job Summary
- We are seeking an experienced and passionate Head Barista to lead our coffee operations and inspire our barista team.
- The Head Barista is responsible for maintaining the highest standards of specialty coffee preparation, ensuring exceptional customer service, overseeing daily bar operations, and coaching team members.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, supervise, and support the barista team during daily operations.
- Prepare and serve high quality specialty coffee and espresso based beverages with precision, consistency, and attention to detail.
- Ensure all beverages meet James Café's quality standards and presentation requirements.
- Train, mentor, and develop baristas in coffee preparation techniques, customer service, workflow efficiency, and equipment handling.
- Monitor daily coffee bar operations, ensuring smooth service during peak and off peak hours.
- Maintain cleanliness, organization, and food safety standards in accordance with company policies and local health regulations.
- Perform regular calibration of espresso machines and grinders to maintain beverage quality.
- Monitor inventory levels of coffee beans, milk, syrups, and bar supplies, and coordinate replenishment with management.
- Minimize product waste and maintain proper stock rotation.
- Collaborate with the kitchen and front of house teams to ensure seamless guest service.
- Assist in developing seasonal beverages, coffee promotions, and menu innovations.
- Address guest feedback professionally and resolve service issues promptly.
Requirements
